CAIC Benefit

Breckenridge, CO: With snow in the forecast and the mountains open for riding, the parking lot outside the Riverwalk Center was packed full of people from all over Colorado this Saturday. The sounds of “The Universally Famous Rocket Surgeons” filled the room as people sampled the food and drinks from local Colorado brewers while checking out the latest in backcountry gear. The benefit brought together all forms of snow sports enthusiasts to help fund the Colorado Avalanche Information Center’s efforts in the backcountry.

Throughout the night, swag flew through the air with reckless abandon and people lined the stage to bid on the many prizes in the silent auction, raising money so the CAIC can continue to provide Colorado backcountry enthusiasts with forecasts and public education. Avalanches kill an average of six people every year in Colorado and their efforts are needed to keep our outdoor playgrounds safer for our journeys.

Thanks go out to those who made the night a success including Joe and Aaron for their hard work.
