Beartooth Pass is Open

The Beartooth Pass (featured in frequency # 7.2) opened up over Memorial Day weekend. The pass opens every spring around this time providing easy access to the high alpine snowfields still lingering. Highway 212 winds it way up out of Red Lodge, Montana to the top of the pass in Wyoming, then back down into Montana ending up in Cooke City. Giving a late spring early summer shred spot to the regions devoted. It is somewhat of a ritual for many of us here in Southwest Montana to make weekend trips down to the pass to spend sunny days hiking slushy jumps and cool nights camping in the wilderness of the Beartooth Mountains. This year the Red Lodge Ski and Snowboard Camp will be operating again providing a park and two lifts for long summer shred days till the snow is gone. Cheers to the start of one of my favorite summer past times, and feel free to come on out and join us we’ll be there.
