Spacecraft Sticker Release Party 09
Seattle, WA – On May 22 Spacecraft hosted a Gallery show based around the release of its annual “Gallery Sticker Sheet” at its Seattle office.
Each year we send out a call to artists around the planet and select about 40 images to create a traveling art show in the form of a sticker sheet. These sheets are distributed globally and act as a roving 2 dimensional gallery, infecting viewers with high quality sticky images that end up in the most random of places.
This year the party had a cause behind it. With permission from all of the artists that submitted, we created 1 of a kind mounted and framed pieces from the images on the sheet. These pieces were then offered in a silent auction with all the proceeds going to the “Bali School Fund”. In Bali many children end up working in the rice fields at an early age, and do not further their education as a means to provide for their families. For a small amount of $, a child can remain in school, support that process and gain a valued education that is not a burden on their family. With roots in Bali, Spacecraft wanted to do something positive in the community that has been so kind to us.
We made art, we drank and we were all smiles with an amazing turnout from the NW community. With a photo booth from Patrick Lennox Wright, special Spacecraft labels from Jones Soda, drinks at Venik Lounge and new works from the staff at Spacecraft and Japan’s Madbunny, it was a night to remember.
Huge thanks to all involved and those who dug in an bought some fresh art…
