Methven, NZ (August 16, 2009) — A new bar for halfpipe riding was set at the 2009 Burton New Zealand Open with double corks becoming the standard overnight. Not since Michaelchuk raised the level of pipe riding almost ten years ago have transitions seen progression like this and it’s refreshing to see people pushing the limits in a contest setting.
