frequency TSJ Names New Editor
Mt. Baker, WA (January 26, 2010) – frequency The Snowboarder’s Journal is proud to announce the promotion of Managing Editor Colin Wiseman to the position of Editor for both the print journal and frqncy.com. “Beginning with his internship in 2007, Colin has proven to be an integral part of our growth and creative quality,” said previous Editor and current Publisher Jeff Galbraith. “His passion for freeriding, quality journalism, and the culture of snowboarding make him a perfect choice to lead frequency TSJ’s editorial into its next decade.” Hailing from Hornby Island, B.C., Colin grew up snowboarding and surfing on Vancouver Island before getting his M.A. in Sociology from the University of Calgary. His travels have included a season-long stint in New Zealand as well as extended tours of South and Central America. He has worked in the kitchens of small ski areas and in academia with Athabasca University and the University of Calgary. He is a citizen of both the U.S. and Canada who speaks better Spanish than he admits and throws a mean method. His work has appeared in Snowboarder, the SBC Ski and Snowboard Resort Guide, SBC Business, ESPN.com, SnowStyle, Whitelines, and more, as well as several academic journals.
After serving as Publisher/Editor since launching the title a decade ago, Jeff Galbraith will now be focusing entirely on serving the brand as Publisher. “This is a significant step forward for us, and allows me to focus on our growing business and allows Colin to focus both on continually progressing the title, while maintaining the legacy of quality we have established,” said Galbraith.
