DUBEAU AND MILLIGAN TAKE TOP SPOTS AT 13th ANNUAL SHOWCASE SHOWDOWN

WHISTLER, BC (April 6, 2010) – Whistler Blackcomb’s 13th annual Showcase Showdown, presented by Burton took over the Nintendo Highest Level Terrain Park last Saturday in the midst of a spring pow day which brought 25 centimetres of fresh snow over night. Jesmond Dubeau and Molly Milligan took first place in the men’s and women’s categories.

This year’s event was tagged the Party in the Park, with the BBQ smoking, chili simmering, and good times flowing all day. “The course was in great shape for a “pow day” in the park,” says Graham Turner, founder of Showcase snowboard shop “The event went off and all I can say is, it was Damn Good.”

The Showdown course set up started with two 70-foot jumps in a row leading into the re-entry feature that included a wallride to rail set up. The riders were judged on their style, trick difficulty, amplitude and creativity.

In the men’s category Whistler resident Jesmond Dubeau took top spot and $2000 with a best run score of 27.8; Andrew Burns took second and $1000 with a best run score of 25.8 and Jay Wexler took third and $500 for his best score of 24.4.

In the women’s category Whistlerite Molly Milligan took home $750 for first place with a best run score of 26.3; Star Of Peace Quinn took second and $500 for her best run score of 22.2 and Marion Gouwy took home $250 and third place for her best run score of 19.8.
