From Winter to Spring: A Gallery

Exactly one week ago today, Mt. Baker’s 5am snow report claimed one of the best powder days in the mountain’s history. A lot of people had big smiles on their face thanks to waist deep powder, the unusually dry flakes with a soft base underneath, and an empty set of chairs.

By Sunday, April 11, it was sunny, warm (mid 40’s), but still powder nonetheless. Some of us took turns on the arm while other built jumps over roads. It was a winter-spring wonderland.

Wednesday, April 14 we took the sleds out for one last hoorah. The scenery was epic and the booters were booting.

This gallery is from one week at Baker and showcases the transition from winter to spring through other side of snowboarding—the people and places that are just as important as the riding itself.
