Spring Powder in Full Effect: Mount Baker and the First Week of April

Mt Baker, WA (April 7, 2010) — Five feet in seven days. In April. Yes, winter’s back in full force in the Pacific Northwest, as with most of the country. Two feet overnight in Utah. A foot a day in Jackson. Seven feet in eight days at Mt Hood. You get the picture. Here is a sample of what we’ve been up to near the frequency TSJ office at Mt Baker. And with more snow on the way, it looks like this could be a spring to remember. A simple word of warning: don’t leave the ski area unless you’re properly equipped and know where you’re going. With this much snow, avalanche activity is ongoing and there have been some close calls over the past few days. Stay safe.
