The third year of the annual two-week event that is Tailgate Alaska is just over the horizon. Combining competitions, parties, entertainment and education, the event gathers pros, industry insiders (including some frequencyTSJ representation) and backcountry enthusiasts to “the hub in the middle of the world’s best backcountry.” A $195 ticket gets you access to all Tailgate Alaska events, including two massive competitions taking place in Valdez during the two weeks: the World Extreme Skiing Championships from March 26 – April 2, which is celebrating its 20th year, and King of the Hill from April 2nd to the 9th.
