Saiko: An Iker Fernandez Documentary

Iker Fernandez has inspired and been inspired by some big names in the snowboard industry. Having competed in the first Olympic halfpipe event at Nagano in 1998, he has set a record by taking part in two more Olympics since (Salt Lake in 2002 and Turin in 2006). He rips in the backcountry, kills it in a halfpipe, and gave snowboarding style in the sometimes unstylish world of 1990s riding. He also calls Spain home, a fact that apparently blew a lot of minds back in his glory days. This production, made possible by his long-time sponsor Nixon, is about the Spaniard’s rise to snowboarding prestige, and features interviews with Nicholas Muller, his snowboarding brothers Dani and Richard Fernandez, as well as Michi Albin. It’s time to get your ’80s comp footage on.
