Few people did as much for snowboarding as Tom Sims. He founded competitions, designed numerous technological advancements and worked tirelessly to ensure that snowboarding be recognized as a real sport. Sims created a solid foundation that allowed subsequent generations to build on, and without his work, snowboarding would not be what it is today. This video from OMSA, the Old Men Snowsurf Association, is a tribute to Sims, and contains vintage footage and photos of the legend alongside shots from the 30th Anniversary of the World Snowboarding Championships. Be sure to watch Craig Kelly, Keith Kimmel, Terry Kidwell and Joel Gomez kill it harder than you on boards with a quarter of the tech.
