Burton’s Backyard Project: Limited Board Release and Design Contest

Burton Snowboards announced that their limited edition Backyard Collection is now available in select local shops worldwide. They also announced that because of the Backyard Projects initial success, they are running another design contest that includes three new board designs, accepting submissions for the next thirty days.

With the help of Blank You Very Much, Burton held a design contest for the first run of Backyard boards, built in the ever-mysterious Craig’s Proto Facility in Burlington, VT. The winning graphics were chosen through Internet voting and the eyes of Danny Davis and Mark Sollars. The winning designs for The Moonshine and The Speakeasy came from winner, Simon Riviere. There are only 600 boards available, so if you want one, you’d better run.

As for the next round of the Backyard Project Design Contest, this year includes three new boards shapes for 2015. The limited edition boards will be handcrafted at Craig’s in VT. The pro-rider judges for these boards are Jussi Oksanen, Kimmy Fasani, and Jeremy Jones. Each judge has their preferences and guidelines for the designs they will most likely choose.

The clock is ticking. There are less than thirty days left to complete submissions for this year’s contest. For more info go to Blankyouverymuch.com.
