Canada’s Contest Killer: “Burton Presents: Mark McMorris”

Mark McMorris is indisputably one of the gnarliest slopestyle riders to ever grace the world of competitive snowboarding. He’s a favorite at most contests, known for consistantly triple corks and always racking up high scores from the judges. Soon after winning the Dew Tour in Breckinridge, CO, Mark broke his rib slamming on a rail at the X Games in Aspen. Although breaking his rib directly before the Olympics in Sochi was “not the ideal situation,” as Mark puts it, he didn’t let that stop him from hopping on a plane to Austria the day after the injury to start physical therapy. He was able to recover enough to compete and take the bronze medal home to Canada. To celebrate, Mark traveled to Baldface for a backcountry session with Travis Rice and Eric Jackson, and then on to compete in the US Open. See it all here in the latest episode of “Burton Presents,” by our friends at Burton Snowboards.
