Snowboarders, artists, and admirers alike gathered this past Thursday at evo in Seattle, WA for the opening event of Asymbol’s Wandering Eyes Gallery. Featuring original artwork by some of the industry’s finest, and a number of frequency TSJ’s featured artists over the years–Jamie Lynn, Mike Parillo, Adam Haynes, Matt French, Corey Smith, iuna tinta and Ten Hundred–the gallery gives the artists a chance to share with us what the world looks like through their constantly wandering eyes.
From Haynes’ surreal runnel-featured painting from the trip featured on the cover of Issue 12.3 to some of Jamie Lynn’s classic works and iuna tinta’s bold and colorful mountainscapes, seeing these pieces in person allows one to truly appreciate the fine art cultivated by mountain-wandering souls, and the true depth of artisitc talent in snowboard culture–it is the mission statement of Asymbol presented in front of your eyes. The one of a kind gallery will be open to the public for the month of March, so if you find yourself in the area, stop in and see for yourself.
Many thanks to Alex Hillinger, all of the talented artists, and the crew at evo for a fun night full beautiful art, good vibes, and to top it off, free beer. Surely, all in attendance left astonished by the maturation of snowboard’s artistic side and excited to see what Asymbol will offer moving forward.
A friendly reminder: you can get a limited edition Asymbol print from Adam Haynes or Mike Parillo print when you purchase a one or two-year subscription to frequency: The Snowboarder’s Journal.
