Mark McMorris, the Burton rider behind the world’s first backside triple cork 1440 and a gold medal run in slopestyle at the Sochi Olympic Games, has often been perceived as just another contest kid, one who practices the same tricks all year long and won’t be seen riding outside the confines of a terrain park. Red Bull’s newest snowboard film, “In Motion,” aims to refute that notion. The film follows Mark and his friends on adventures around the globe, from riding through tight trees lines to sending it down wide-open face on big-mountain runs, and of course there will be a plethera of insane freestyle tricks to boot. Will Mark McMorris be the next contest killer to make a name for himself in the backcountry, too? It’ll be interesting to see where the sport takes him, and where he helps take the sport. The film will be available to view for free online for 24 hours, starting Oct. 15, 2015 at 6 p.m. PST.
