JLA Banked Slalom: Celebrating Life and Snowboarding at Mammoth 13 Years Later

The JLA Banked Slalom is now in it’s 4th year and although the course, it’s contestants, and prizes have evolved the vision to bring the snowboarding community together to remember Jeff Anderson is still alive. The idea to honor both his involvment in snowboarding and his legacy by bringing the community of his home mountains together continues to this day. The course differs from other banked slalom courses around the country mainly because this course isn’t dug in with shovels and tools. First a line is set, and then TJ Dawoud’s park crew at Mammoth line up and literally ride the course into fruition. In the upper flats they do build a few bump-humps for speed before going into the final gully, but this course is manmade in every sense. Afterwards the crew polishes things up and then the fun begins. Check out this recap from the event and start making plans for next year.
