When the snow is low in Colorado sometimes the best thing to do is chase the snow out of state, even if that means traveling all the way to Northern California. Just ask Gareth Van Dyk, who made a spur of the moment decision to jump on an Amtrak from Crested Butte to Tahoe last winter. Gareth’s trip paid off when he got to link up with big mountain legends Jeremy Jones and Mike Basich for some tasty powder runs. After this trip, Gareth has probably already booked his train tickets again for next season.
