A Boot for Everyone – Vans Hi Standard OG by Kennedi Deck

Kennedi Deck (featured in Issue 18.2) is a strong advocate for inclusivity in the snowboarding world and beyond. She strives to break down barriers in every aspect of life, so it’s fitting that her new Vans Hi Standard OG boots pro colorway is available in both men’s and women’s sizes.

Costa Mesa, CALIF. (Sept. 2, 2021) – Vans, the original action sports brand and icon of creative expression, is proud to present the Hi-Standard OG by Kennedi Deck, the first-ever pro colorway of the Hi-Standard OG that will be available in both men’s and women’s sizes.

Known for her timeless style and decimation of street spots the world over, Kennedi is just as passionate about driving inclusivity as she is about snowboarding. As an advocate and prominent voice in the queer snowboarding community, she has inspired many to be their true, unapologetic selves. Kennedi brings that same sense of inclusion and self-expression to her signature Hi-Standard OG boot.

A boot made for everyone, Kennedi’s Hi-Standard OG features Vans’ V1 UltraCush™ liner for comfort, warmth and support, as well as V1 POPCUSH™—a 3D molded, anatomically shaped and PU-blended footbed that makes the boot fit and feel better.

The V1 Waffle Lug outsole delivers a classic Vans vulcanized look to the snow, while maintaining superior performance and traction. Designed for all-mountain and park/street riding, this timeless style combines dynamic support, unfiltered boardfeel, and unrestricted mobility with the familiar feel of traditional lace closure and classic Vans aesthetic.

Kennedi’s colorway is a versatile navy and slate gray upper with a marshmallow vulcanized-looking sole, navy foxing stripe, marshmallow laces, contrast white stitching and a bright white Sidestripe. A custom embroidered patch with Kennedi’s artwork appears on the boot’s side, and also carries over into a capsule collection featuring the Standard Mid Snow MTE—a waterproof seam-sealed construction mid-rise boot with 100-gram weight insulation package and waterproof vulcanized lower— and the Era, both in Kennedi’s signature colorway.

Kennedi Deck’s calculated approach to a wide range of street features—locking in every 5050 or squaring up every broadside— has gained notoriety for the young snowboarder, who hails from the prairies in Saskatechewan and currently resides in Calgary. After a celebrated part in The Uninvited earned Kennedi TransWorld Snowboarding’s 2018 Women’s Video Part of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards, the Canadian has cemented a place in snowboarding and recently proven to be an outspoken ally in the queer snow community. Never without a 35mm film camera in hand, Kennedi has become a favorite with the Vans crew, with a lighthearted personality and willingness to put in long hours. A rising talent, Kennedi will undoubtedly shape the way we view street snowboarding for years to come.

The Hi-Standard OG by Kennedi Deck collection is now available at Vans Snow retail locations and Vans.com/Snow.
