SHIRAKAWAGO – Powder in the Gifu Prefecture

A long, arcing turn on a wide open face is truly soup for the soul. A meditation of sorts. And when it comes to surfing the cold, light snow in Japan, the GENTEMSTICK guys are masters of the craft. See so for yourself in their latest offering, “SHIRAKAWAGO.”

A word from GENTEMSTICK about the video:

Shirakawago is the name for the area lying along the Shokawa river in Gifu Prefecture. The snow falls deep in this nostalgically picturesque village known for its traditional architecture farmhouses remaining in the area. Arata Suzumura and Ryuta Asahi went on a mission deep into the backcountry of Shirakawago’s winter. A snowsurfing movie following the footsteps of these two adventure-goers.

Featuring @aratasuzumura & @ryuta_asahi.

A film by @ebisfilms.
