Heavy Metal Music and Pinball
Brandon FainHailing from Rhode Island, Brandon Fain grew up lapping the famous rope tow at Yawgoo Valley, which birthed his passion for jibbing. He then went to college in Vermont, studying environmental science. Brandon worked for Darkside Snowboards, Burton and Vermont Adaptive, further strengthening his love for the snowboarding community. Now back in Rhode Island working at Civil Skateboard & Snowboard Shop, Brandon continues to pursue working in the industry he loves. He has filmed multiple street parts and continues to keep filming in the gritty East Coast streets.
Lukas HuffmanHailing from Montpelier, VT, Lukas Huffman spent 10 years as a professional snowboarder traveling the globe and pushing backcountry progression during the late ’90s and early 2000s. After hanging up his boots as a pro, Lukas moved to New York City to attend Columbia University, where he got a degree in film studies. After 15 years of living in NYC and working as a freelance filmmaker, he moved with his family back to Montpelier. Lukas has made films for Vice Media, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and his award-winning short films have screened in festivals around the world. He is the creative director at Driven Studio, where he works with childhood snowboard friends.
Max LyonsPhotographer Max Lyons was born in Boston, MA. After moving to Vermont at age 9 and falling in love with snowboarding, he immersed himself with the culture however he could. Now Max is in his third year of working for Rome Snowboards, after nearly 10 years of riding for them. Max started photographing the team at Rome sponsored events. Since then, he has enjoyed thoughtfully documenting all aspects of snowboarding and skateboarding whenever and wherever possible. See more of his work on Instagram @deskjobmax.
Jérôme TanonBorn in Paris and now living in Annecy, France, Jérôme Tanon has been a snowboard photographer since 2007. He quickly switched from digital to film and crafted a unique look in the darkroom. His photographs are exhibited regularly and published in snowboard magazines around the world. Following up on his personal video projects such as Emperor and Singes, in 2016 Jérôme released the self-produced documentary The Eternal Beauty of Snowboarding, which reached millions of views on YouTube. He then produced Zabardast (2018) and FreeRider (2022). In 2020 he released the coffee table book Heroes: Women In Snowboarding, which included a travelling photo exhibition. His latest film project, Of A Lifetime, premiered in October 2024 at festivals and will be available to the public in early 2025. See more of his work at jerometanon.com.
Alastair SpriggsOriginally from Ottawa, ON, Alastair Spriggs discovered his passion for snowboarding on the 280-foot-tall Mount Pakenham. He later relocated to Squamish, BC, to pursue graduate studies and photojournalism, along with his dream to ride much taller mountains. Having worked with publications and clients such as VICE News, The Globe and Mail and Red Bull, he now serves as the managing editor at The Snowboarder’s Journal and works as an educational assistant in the Sea to Sky School District. Outside of work and boarding, he enjoys mountain biking, heavy metal music and pinball.
