In a world of digi-mania, Matt Georges stands apart from the herd with his selection of 20-plus analog cameras and ability to use them. Utilizing different films, cameras and techniques for different applications and shooting with the best riders in the business, the 25 year old Frenchman brings an inherently unique perspective and approach to snowboard imagery. Georges shares his photographic experiment.

There’s nothing typical about Matt Georges’ approach to snowboard photography. He lists basketball cards among his first photographical inspirations; he began his career as Art Director at the French title Freeestyler Snowboard Mag after a failed attempt at a career in film production, and before he had been widely published. And, notably, despite coming up in the digital era, he still shoots predominantly film.

Why film?

For the 25-year-old native of Grenoble, France, it is part feel, part heritage, part experimentation…
