Irony is Bliss: A Visual Synopsis of Capita Super Corp

Many small companies come to life with humble beginnings and big aspirations, but very few not only make it to those goals, but far supercede them. Capita was a small company that started in Seattle in the hopes of putting into snowboarding what they wanted to see in it. They were a rebellious group that wanted to see more experimental visuals, shocking graphics, and riding that strayed from the norm. Since those early days Capita has stayed true to the original vision and ironically grown into the “Super Corp” they always joked about. A somewhat real “Defender of Awesome” in a counter-culture currently saturated with politically safe design and visuals intended to appeal to the vacationing family, but inherently alienating the core audience that started everything in the first place; that kept breathing life into this sport and this lifestyle even when it seemed hopeless. This 14 minute short documentary style film gives a brief synopsis of their journey through snowboarding from the good times to the bad times.
