Bonfire Free Range: Wilderness Huts

Oregon’s got it all: resorts to lap, parks to session, powder to froth in. And even after it stops falling, the snow sticks around for months on end. Last Spring Ralph Kucharek, Keaton Rodgers and Justin Norman got off the grid for some corn-snow boarding in the Oregon backcountry. Using snowmobiles and splitboards the crew ventured to a small yurt in the woods–a shelter which would serve as their home base during a few days of jumping and jibbing among the trees. Despite the lack of running water and everyone sharing “one stinky outhouse,” the place looks like paradise.
