Marcus Rand: Behind the Yawgoons

Despite living in a small town with Rhode Island’s lone ski resort, a small hill with just over 300 vertical feet and a rope tow, the Yawgoons (featured in issue 12.3 of The Snowboarder’s Journal) have managed to become an internationally recognized crew in snowboarding. From sliding chain rails and riding off chairlift towers, they did so by taking an unprecedented approach to that little hill and creating edits that stood out from many other. “I don’t think a lot of [the Yawgoons] creativity would have happened if we had a park crew that was setting up proper features all the time.” Get some insight on making big things happen in small places with Yawgoons crew member, Marcus Rand, in this short documentary presented by Stinky Socks.
