Beautiful Flaws: Kimmy Fasani’s Breast Cancer Journey

Kimmy Fasani has always been a badass. She’s one of the greatest snowboarders of her generation, if not all-time, in large part due to her tenacity in the face of fear. In classic fashion, Kimmy has been publicly displaying her strength and courage through the life-changing breast cancer diagnosis and treatment she’s been going through over the past year. Her journey has been well documented, as seen through this gripping documentary, “Beautiful Flaws: Kimmy Fasani’s Breast Cancer Journey.”

Now Kimmy and her husband, pro skier and artist Chris Benchetler, are introducing their new 501(c)3 non-profit, The Benchetler Fasani Foundation. Foundation members include Kimmy, Chris, Donna Carpenter, Ashley Otte and Jan Kaufman. Their mission: “To provide a meaningful connection to the outdoors in order to facilitate the healing process for those who have suffered loss or hardship. It will provide outdoor experiences through curated trips with mentors and facilitators best aligned to each individual in an effort to promote healing.”

After sharing my journey this year, the support we’ve had has moved us more than we ever thought possible.  We’ve also heard from many people in similar hardships and feel that we are in a position to help.  We want to empower those struggling on to their own path of healing through nature.” – Kimmy Fasani
