Georgia/Chechnya

On a wing and a beer, Jake Bogoch’s crew heads to former Soviet resort nation of Georgia. While they find that independence can lead to power failure, a faltering economy, and a sketchy border with Chechen separatists, they also locate Georgia’s alpine guru, a willing undercover heli pilot, amazing and cheap wines, and a series of bullet holes in the ceiling of their hotel. While other mags send the same guys to do the same moves off the same jumps to the same tired places, frequency relies on hellbent individuals going straight into the madness and powder turns. One of snowboarding’s greatest adventures.
