Stevens Pass

Last winter, photographer Jordan Ingmire decided that paying rent was for the birds. With a limited budget, he acquired an old Winnebago, renovated it, and parked it in the RV lot at Stevens Pass, WA. The alternative style ski-in, ski-out community vibe from the comfort of a mobile home.

…With December came frigid temperatures. Progress on the remodel slowed, neighbors’ frowns turned to complaints and the time had come to move. I piloted my mobile 32-foot mansion up Washington State’s Highway 2, to the frigid RV parking lot at Stevens Pass. It remained there for the duration of the winter.

Things were different living in the lot. My schedule was free… in fact, I no longer needed a schedule. The chairlift was a five-minute walk away. The urgency to go snowboarding was gone. Life was simple. A new chapter had begun…
